The Problem of Lefthandedness
by Gerda Hueck
The problem of lefthandedness confronts parents, kindergarten teachers, class teachers, therapeutic eurythmists, and doctors. If the changeover to righthandedness, especially for writing, is to be attempted, one needs to find an individual solution for each child.
At conferences for Waldorf school teachers and in lectures, Rudolf Steiner offered fundamental indications for "changing over". He provided important insights for recognizing qualitative differences between the right and left in the human form and in space. Through the multifaceted variety of explanations, educators are able to learn about the many different levels inherent in this problem.
