Perchance to Dream
A Drama of Life after Death and before Birth
by Barbara Betteridge
From the Foreword: Do such events as suicide and abortion carry spiritual consequences? In the imaginative framework of a three-act play, a long- time Steiner student suggests they do. Two souls descending into incarnation encounter on their way both inhabitants of heavenly spheres and souls arriving from the Earth. Their dialogue, rendered in pentameter to suggest its super earthly setting, offers a view of the “other side” of urgent problems of our time. Related earthly scenes are given in prose. The play is intended either to be read or to be performed.
