Nature Ways in story and Verse
If I Can See the World Around Me
by Dorothy Harrer.
Illustrated by Robin C. Lawrence.
Contributions by Kundry Willwerth and Martha Keltz
Dorothy Harrer describes her book, recommended for children 5 and above, “... stories and verses written for children so they can learn about the ways of nature with joy when the elements, the seasons, and the plants and animals are clothed in an imagery that is true to nature and yet shows them in human terms. The human terms, often well-known from a child’s own experiences, enlighten a young one’s search for a way to relate self to nature.”
About the author
Dorothy Harrer taught in the lower grades at the Rudolf Steiner School in New York City for decades and mastered the high art of teaching through biography, mythology, and imaginative color to stimulate clear thinking and feeling understanding of all the topics covered in a complete Waldorf education. The skillful development of these pictures of the ancient civilizations that birthed our own lead to comprehension and clear thinking about these ancient times and lives.
