Bothmer
Tuning your being through Movement
Illustrated by David Newbatt
Text and composition by Martin Baker and Tom Watson
In 1922 as he arrived to teach at the first Waldorf school in Stuttgart, Germany, Count Friedrich von Bothmer developed a series of thirty exercises which trace and enhance the developing movement faculties of the growing human being.
David Newbatt’s colourful and energetic drawings bring into view something of the dynamism and life of the active space around the human being in movement. David worked with Bothmer Movement practitioners to create these ground breaking and exciting images. They do not cover all of Bothmer’s work and are not intended as an instructional aid but as an artistic endeavour to indicate the invisible movement forces at work around the human being.
